Al Areen Holding Company appoints Tariq Aljowder as CEO

In a statement issued yesterday, the Board of Directors of Al Areen Holding Company, has appointed Mr. Tariq Ali Aljowder as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company.

The board welcomed Mr. Tariq Aljowder as the new CEO, who will take charge of the company's activities. He brings a wealth of industry expertise of over 22 years of working with Bahrain Defense Force on logistics management and development, contracts management and implementation, where he held a portfolio of senior executive responsibilities, and the board is looking forward to him bringing that record of expertise to Al Areen."

The board also stressed "This step is part of our strategic planning to attract a highly qualified and experienced workforce in line with our fast growth".

"I am delighted to be taking on this role at such a fast-growing and prominent company with a portfolio of an impressive world class projects within Al Areen development. There are numerous opportunities that currently allow the company to continue its growth, and I am keen on building upon the successful model and unique approach Al Areen has created," said Mr. Aljowder.

Al Areen Holding Company has been conceived with the aim of offering highly-differentiated and quality value-driven realty and investment products. Mr. Aljowder in his new capacity will help contribute effectively towards this endeavour through project management and the overall development supervision.

Mr. Aljowder, is a Bahraini national, holds BSC. In Aerospace Technology Engineering from Northrop University, Los Angeles-California, and MBA from American University Washington DC.

Al Areen development project is being built over two million square metres in the southern region of the Kingdom of Bahrain. This development, a US$ 2 billion plus luxury, mixed-use health, residential and family tourism development, nestles in an elevated desert setting and features a world-class spa resort, a distinctive water park, and a range of residential, commercial, recreational, entertainment, and health and hospitality facilities to come.

Al Areen’s components so far include the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort, Al Areen and the “Lost Paradise of Dilmun” Water Park, which are both now open, 5 Star Hotel, Oryx Hills, Sunset Hills, Al Areen Homes and Downtown Al Areen are all due for completion by the second or third quarter of 2010. Other upcoming projects include Sarab Al Areen, Al Waha Resort, Al Areen Medical Centre, Daheyat Al Areen, and a range of residential and commercial projects.
