The second phase of Al Areen development project witnesses significant progress

Al Areen Holding Company announced that construction works on the second phase of the Al Areen project are proceeding according to the planned program. The second phase of the project, consists of four projects, namely the Domina Prestige Hotel Al Areen, being developed by Al Hamad construction company, Oryx Hills developed by Khaleeji Commercial Bank, Sunset Hills from Abu Dhabi Investment House, and Downtown Al Areen, a Gulf Holding Company project. The company also announced that approximately 60% of infrastructure works at Al Areen have now been completed.

Commenting on these developments, Stephen Rothel, Managing Director of Al Areen Holding Company, said, "After the completion of the first stage last year, we directly launched the second stage of the project, underscoring our commitment along with the developers to finish the project within the timetable set for it. The Al Areen project is of particular significance, coming under the vision and efforts to reinforce Kingdom of Bahrain’s reputation as a leading financial and trade centre of the region and enhance its ability to attract investments both regionally and globally, and improving the capabilities and facilities that contribute to making Bahrain a destination for family tourism. "

"Al Areen project is currently witnessing intense construction activities, in addition to the construction of Domina Prestige, Al Areen, Oryx Hills, Sunset Hills and Downtown Al Areen, the project is forging the establishment and development of various components of the infrastructure including the internal roads network and water systems, electricity, sanitation, communications, agriculture, horticulture and others. We expect to complete components of the second phase of the project during 2009-2010," he added.

Al Areen is also in the final stage of completing its strategy on the key facilities management roll out for the entire project and its partners will be announced shortly.
