Al Areen Takes a delegate from Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority on a Guided Tour of the Landmark Development

A Jordanian delegation from Aqaba Special Economic Zone paid a visit to the Al Areen Development. The delegation led by the Chief Commissioner for the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, HE Eng Nader Dahabi, consisted of HE Saleh Keilani, Commissioner for Economic Development & Investment Affairs, and HE Imad Fakhoury, Chairman for the Aqaba Development Corporation and several other Jordanian officials and businessmen.

Eng. Waleed Saffy General Manager of Al Areen Holding Company and Mr. Murad Ramadhan Director of Real Estate Development of Gulf Finance House received the delegation. They were briefed on the landmark development, which will enhance the position of Bahrain as a preferred regional destination for health and family tourism.

Eng. Waleed Saffy, said, “We are extremely happy with this visits which emphasizes the strong relation between Jordan and Bahrain and looking forward to enhance our ties with our Jordanian counterparts, specially will their rich and long experience in tourism”.

The delegation visited the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort, Al Areen construction site, where work is well underway, being developed at investments of US$140 million, and expected to complete by the end of this year.

HE Eng Nader Dahabi, Chief Commissioner for the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, praised the achievements made at the Al Areen development and its distinguished construction work.

Al Areen is a large-scale, luxurious urban mixed-use health and family tourism development spread over an area of 2 million square meters, in the southern region of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Since its inception it attracted several international developers and investors. The total investment in it exceeds US $1 billion. The main components at the Al Areen development are the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort- Al Areen, “The Lost Paradise of Dilmun” Water Park, Al Waha Resort, Al Areen Hotel and Resort, Downtown Al Areen, Oryx Hills and Sarab Al Areen. The development will also feature additional projects, including residential, commercial, hospitality, recreational and entertainment facilities.
