Al Areen to sponsor Bahrain International Travel Expo BITE 2006

Al Areen Holding Company announced its sponsorship for the Bahrain International Travel Expo BITE 2006, held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince & Commander in Chief of Bahrain Defense Force, that will be held in Bahrain from 9 to 11 May 2006.

The exhibition, which will be a comprehensive platform for deepening the growing economic relationship in general and tourism in particular between Bahrain and other parts of the world, is supported by the Economic Development Board (EDB) of Bahrain, Tourism Directorate of the Ministry of Information.

A delegation of key international buyers from over 20 countries representing major international tourism companies will also participate and attend the exhibition.

Announcing the sponsorship, Mr. Walid Saffy, General Manager of Al Areen Holding Company said: “The Bahrain International Travel Expo BITE 2006 comes at a time when economic engagement in development project focusing on tourism such as Al Areen Development Project is on an upswing. Our sponsorship is a reflection of this rising enthusiasm in forging new relationships and adding value to the economical development of the Kingdom of bahrain.”

As part of Al Areen activities during the exhibition Al Areen Holding Company hosted at the Al Areen Headquarters and Client Relations Center (CRC), a senior delegation from the exhibitors and the international buyers, to keep them informed about the progress of various attractions and community components at the US$ 1 billon Al Areen development.

The visitors were received by Mr. Waleed Saffy General Manger of Al Areen Holding Company, and Al Areen marketing officials. They were briefed on the landmark development, which will enhance the position of Bahrain as a preferred regional destination for health and family tourism.

The delegation then visited key construction sites at the Al Areen development, where work is well underway, including the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort construction site, which is being developed at an investment of US$140 million.

The delegation expressed that they were greatly impressed by the uniqueness of the entire development, and pointed out that Al Areen will enhance Bahrain’s tourism appeal.

The main components of the Al Areen development are the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort and “The Lost Paradise of Dilmun” Water Park, which are both expected to open for operation soon this year. Al Areen has recently announced the launches of the Al Waha Resort, the Domina Hotel & Resort engulfing the water park, and Downtown Al Areen. The development will also feature additional projects that will be announced shortly, including residential, commercial, hospitality, recreational, and entertainment facilities.
