Al Areen Takes the Children & Mothers Welfare Society on a Guided Tour of the Landmark Development

3 May 2006

As part of its continuous efforts to update the public on the progress of various attractions and community components at the US$ 1 billion Al Areen development, the Chairman of Al Areen Holding Company, Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa, received senior members of the Children & Mothers Welfare Society, led by Shaikha Lulwa bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, at the Al Areen Client Relations Centre (CRC) yesterday.

Members of the delegation were briefed about the landmark development, which will enhance the position of Bahrain as a preferred regional destination for health and family tourism. They were later taken on a guided tour of key components at the Al Areen development site including the prestigious Oryx Hills residential area, which consists of 106 private luxury villas.

With 70% of the Oryx Hills project already sold at prices ranging between BD 177,000 and BD 280,000, Al Areen and Gulf Finance House promoters felt that the time was ripe for a series of tours to the development site for our potential client base. Financing for property purchase of Oryx Hills residential units can be arranged through Gulf Finance House-Commercial Bank, which will take 70% of the unit value, mortgaging it over 10 to 15 years.

The main components of the Al Areen development are the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort and “The Lost Paradise of Dilmun” Water Park, which are both expected to open for operation soon this year. Al Areen recently announced the launches of the Al Waha Resort, the Domina Hotel & Resort engulfing the water park and Downtown Al Areen. The development will also feature additional projects that will be announced shortly, including residential, commercial, hospitality, recreational and entertainment facilities. Construction of the Oryx Hills properties will be completed by 2007.

The delegation also visited the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort and “The Lost Paradise of Dilmun” Water Park construction sites, where work is well underway, being developed at investments of US$140 million and US$ 50 million, respectively.

The Al Areen CRC is an on-site marketing and promotional office that offers access to the different developmental opportunities at Al Areen, as well as information and materials pertaining to various projects and attractions at Al Areen. It helps channel investor interest into the development by keeping visitors abreast of its progress, arranging tours to the site, and hosting different kinds of events from press conferences to corporate functions and meetings.

Shaikha Lulwa Al Khalifa expressed her confidence in the success of Al Areen, and that this landmark development will further characterize Bahrain as a favored destination for leisure and tourism in the region.
