Sheikh Ali Al Jaber Al Ahmed Al Subah, the Capital Governor of Kuwait, Visits the Al Areen Development

Sheikh Ali Al Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah, the Capital Governor of Kuwait , accompanied by Sheikh Hmoud Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Capital Governor of Bahrain, and Sheikh Azzam Mubbarak Al Sabah, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, paid a visit to the Al Areen development.

The delegates were received by Mr. Peter Panayiotou, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Finance House, Eng. Waleed Saffy, General Manager of Al Areen Holding Company and Ibrahim Hussain, General Manager of Khaleeji Commercial Bank. The Capital Governor of Kuwait was briefed on the different components of the landmark development, which will enhance the position of Bahrain as a preferred regional destination for health and family tourism.

Eng. Waleed Saffy General Manager of Al Areen Holding Company said, “We are honored by this visit, which emphasizes the strong relations between Kuwait and Bahrain. Al Areen is an evident example of this relation as several of its developers come from Kuwait.”

Mr. Ibrahim Hussain, General Manager of Khaleeji Commercial Bank briefed the visitors about the prestigious Oryx Hills residential area, which consists of 106 private luxury villas. Currently 70% of the villas have been sold. Khaleeji Commercial Bank finances purchase of these residential units.

The delegates were later taken on guided tour of the landmark development including the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort construction site, where work is well underway being developed at an investment of US$140 million which is expected to operate by the end of this year. Sheikh Ali Al Jaber Al Ahmed Al Subah praised the accomplishments of the Al Areen Development and its distinguished construction work and world class standards.

This mixed use Al Areen development consists of a wide-range of residential, commercial, entertainment and recreational facilities available. Its main components are the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort and “The Lost Paradise of Dilmun” Water Park, which are both expected to open for operation soon this year, Al Waha Resort, Downtown Al Areen and Sarab Al Areen and many others.
