Al Areen Receives the Minister of Labour
Minister of Labour reviewed potential career opportunities within the development

His Excellency Dr. Majeed Muhsen Al Alawi, the Minister of Labour, paid a visit to the Al Areen headquarters. Dr. Al Alawi was briefed about the project by Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa, Chairman of Al Areen Holding Company and the General Manager, Eng. Waleed Saffy. The Minister reviewed potential job opportunities in for Bahraini job seekers.

Dr. Al Alawi was accompanied by His Excellency Sheikh AbdulRahman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa the Undersecretary, Mr. Jameel Humaidan Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Al Banaa Assistant Undersecretary for Training and other senior officials from the ministry. They were briefed about the landmark development and its main components which include Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort, Al Areen and The" Lost Paradise of Dilmun” Water Park, Al Waha Resort, Downtown Al Areen, Sarab Al Areen, Oryx Hills residential project, Sunset Hills alongside other residential, commercial, hospitality, recreational, and entertainment facilities, all spread over an area of 2 million square meters in the southern region of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The project is expected to enhance the position of Bahrain as a preferred regional destination for health and family tourism.

Dr. Al Alawi and the delegation then visited the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort, Al Areen construction site, where work has nearly completed, being developed at investments of US$170 million and spread over an area of 130,000 square meters. The Resort is expected to open in the first quarter of 2007.

H.E. Dr. Al Alawi praised the project and said that he is positive that Al Areen will galvanize Bahrain’s tourism appeal, create various career and economic opportunities in the local market, emphasizing that the Ministry of Labour will continue to provide all the necessary support for needed for the completion of the development.

From his side Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa, Chairmen of Al Areen Holding Company said: “Clearly, without the cooperation and support of Bahrain’s wise leadership and astute government it would have been impossible to make the progress we have made so far. The project is on time, phase one which consists of the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort, Al Areen and the “Lost Paradise of Dilmun” Water Park is due to finish in the very near future, and the investors commenced on there projects. We are delighted that Al Areen will have an active role in enhancing family tourism in Bahrain and create decent jobs for the youth of Bahrain.“
